You control the payment you submit.
DecorationPath will not treat this general webpage as authorization to charge a specific amount. A payment is authorized only when you complete the applicable payment step and approve the amount, payment method, and transaction presented to you.
Purpose of this authorization
This Payment Authorization describes the terms that generally apply when you direct DecorationPath or its payment processor to charge a payment method for an identified transaction.
Payment authorization may be requested in connection with:
- A full furniture purchase.
- A required financing down payment.
- A minimum financing-account payment.
- A custom financing-account payment.
- An outstanding order or account balance.
- An approved delivery, redelivery, or other disclosed charge.
- Another payment specifically presented for your approval.
Authorizing a payment does not authorize a different amount, future payment, recurring debit, or separate transaction unless you receive and accept a separate authorization covering it.
Types of DecorationPath payments
Full purchase payment
A payment for the full authorized purchase amount, including applicable taxes, shipping, delivery, or disclosed charges.
Required down payment
The portion of an eligible furniture purchase that must be paid before the financed order can proceed.
Minimum payment
A payment in the amount currently shown as the minimum amount required for the financing account.
Custom payment
An amount selected by the customer, subject to the available balance, account status, and payment limits.
The payment screen presented before authorization should identify the payment type, amount, and account or order to which the payment will be applied.
Payment methods
Available payment methods may include credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets, bank-based payment methods, or another method supported by DecorationPath’s payment processor.
Not every payment method will necessarily be available for every transaction. Availability may depend on:
- The payment type and amount.
- The customer’s device and browser.
- The payment processor’s capabilities.
- The issuing bank or financial institution.
- Fraud-prevention and verification requirements.
- Geographic, account, or transaction restrictions.
You represent that you are the authorized holder or permitted user of the payment method submitted.
One-time payment authorization
Unless the payment screen expressly states otherwise, each DecorationPath payment is treated as a one-time authorization for the amount and transaction displayed before submission.
By completing the payment step, you authorize DecorationPath and its payment processor to:
- Submit the approved amount to your selected payment method.
- Request authorization from the issuing bank or financial institution.
- Capture or complete the approved transaction.
- Apply the payment to the identified order or financing account.
- Provide a receipt or payment-status notification.
- Reverse, void, or refund the transaction when appropriate.
A one-time payment authorization does not permit DecorationPath to use the payment method for unrelated purchases or future payments without another valid authorization.
Recurring or automatic payments
This public Payment Authorization page does not enroll a customer in automatic or recurring payments.
DecorationPath will not treat the authorization of a down payment, minimum payment, custom payment, or furniture purchase as authorization for future recurring debits.
If an automatic-payment feature is offered in the future, the customer must receive and accept a separate authorization that identifies:
- The payment method to be charged.
- Whether the amount is fixed or variable.
- The payment frequency or scheduled dates.
- How payment amounts will be determined.
- How advance notice of variable payments will be provided.
- How the authorization may be cancelled or revoked.
- Any other information required by applicable law.
Saving a payment method for convenience does not, by itself, authorize DecorationPath to initiate future charges.
Payment amount and transaction review
Before submitting a payment, review the displayed:
- Payment amount.
- Payment type.
- Order or financing account.
- Customer or billing information.
- Payment method.
- Applicable taxes, delivery charges, or other disclosed amounts.
- Any separate authorization or transaction terms.
Do not submit the payment if the amount or transaction information appears incorrect.
A payment authorization applies to the amount shown at the time of approval. DecorationPath will not increase that amount after submission without obtaining any additional authorization required by law.
How payments are processed
DecorationPath uses a third-party payment processor to securely process supported payment methods. The processor may communicate with card networks, banks, digital-wallet providers, and other financial institutions to request authorization and complete the payment.
You review the payment
The payment type, amount, and available payment method are presented before submission.
You provide authorization
You approve the payment by completing the displayed checkout or payment action.
The processor requests approval
The payment processor requests authorization from the applicable financial institution.
The result is recorded
A successful, pending, declined, cancelled, refunded, or failed payment status may be recorded.
The payment is applied
Once confirmed, the payment is applied to the applicable order or financing-account records.
Payment timing and account posting
A payment may be authorized immediately but take additional time to settle, post, or become final.
Timing may depend on:
- The payment method used.
- The issuing bank or financial institution.
- The payment processor.
- The time and day the payment is submitted.
- Fraud, identity, or security review.
- Bank holidays or processing interruptions.
- Whether the transaction is later returned or reversed.
A temporary authorization or pending transaction may appear before the payment is fully completed.
Available credit, order status, or account balance may not update until the payment reaches the required processing status.
Declined, failed, or returned payments
A payment may be declined, failed, reversed, or returned because of:
- Insufficient funds or available credit.
- Incorrect payment information.
- An expired or restricted payment method.
- A bank or issuer decline.
- Fraud-prevention or identity-verification concerns.
- A customer dispute or payment reversal.
- A processor, network, or technical error.
- A closed or unavailable financial account.
A failed or returned payment does not satisfy the associated purchase or account obligation.
When permitted by the accepted agreement and applicable law, a returned payment may result in an account adjustment, restriction, disclosed charge, or request for another payment method.
Cancellation requests
A payment-cancellation request should be submitted as soon as possible. DecorationPath may be unable to cancel a payment after it has been authorized, captured, submitted for settlement, or completed.
When a payment can no longer be cancelled, a refund or reversal may be considered under the applicable purchase, return, cancellation, financing, and payment terms.
Cancelling a payment does not automatically cancel:
- The underlying furniture order.
- An accepted financing agreement.
- A payment obligation.
- A delivery appointment.
- A separate transaction or authorization.
Order cancellation must be requested separately under the Returns & Cancellations policy.
Refunds, voids, and reversals
When a refund is approved, it will generally be returned through the original payment method unless another method is required or permitted.
The time needed for a refund to appear depends on the payment processor, card network, bank, payment method, and financial institution.
A voided authorization may disappear from the customer’s account differently from a completed payment that is later refunded.
For financed purchases, a return or refund may require separate adjustments to:
- The down payment.
- The financed purchase balance.
- The account ledger.
- Available credit.
- Accrued or posted account activity.
- The associated furniture order.
DecorationPath may approve and submit a refund before the receiving financial institution displays the funds in the customer’s account.
Unauthorized or disputed payments
Contact DecorationPath promptly if you believe a payment was unauthorized, duplicated, incorrectly processed, or applied to the wrong order or account.
You may also have rights to contact your bank, card issuer, or financial institution concerning a suspected billing error or unauthorized transaction.
When contacting DecorationPath, provide:
- Your name and non-sensitive contact information.
- The payment date.
- The payment amount.
- The associated order or account reference, when available.
- A description of the suspected error.
Do not send your full card number, bank account number, Social Security number, password, or security code through ordinary email.
Filing a payment dispute does not automatically resolve the underlying furniture order or financing obligation. The transaction and account records may require separate review.
Payment security and verification
DecorationPath and its payment processor may use security, authentication, fraud-prevention, and verification measures to protect customers and transactions.
These measures may include:
- Encrypted payment pages.
- Address and security-code verification.
- Digital-wallet authentication.
- Device, browser, session, and transaction monitoring.
- Issuer or bank authentication.
- Additional identity or account verification.
- Temporary payment or account restrictions.
A payment may be delayed or declined when verification cannot be completed or suspicious activity is detected.
DecorationPath generally does not need customers to send complete payment credentials through email, text message, or customer support communications.
Receipts and payment records
After a payment is submitted, DecorationPath may provide an electronic confirmation, receipt, status update, or Customer Hub record.
Payment records may include:
- The payment amount.
- The payment date and time.
- The payment type.
- The associated order or financing account.
- A masked description of the payment method.
- The payment status.
- A processor or transaction reference.
- Refund, reversal, or return information.
Customers should retain payment confirmations and review their Customer Hub, bank, or card records for accuracy.
Electronic delivery of payment records is also subject to the applicable E-SIGN Consent.
Payment authorization statement
When you complete the applicable payment action, you affirm the following:
I authorize the payment presented to me.
I have reviewed the payment amount, payment type, payment method, and order or financing account associated with this transaction.
I authorize DecorationPath and its payment processor to submit the displayed amount to the payment method I selected and to apply the completed payment to the identified transaction.
I represent that I am authorized to use the payment method submitted and that the information I provided is accurate.
I understand that this authorization applies only to the payment presented unless I separately authorize a future or recurring payment arrangement.
I understand that a payment may be declined, delayed, reversed, or returned and is not final until successfully processed.
Viewing this page alone does not authorize a payment. Authorization is recorded when you complete the applicable payment or checkout action.
