Refund, Return & Financing Policy
S&M Furniture, Inc.
1. Damages and Issues
Customers must inspect all items immediately upon receipt. If an item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, you must notify S&M Furniture, Inc. promptly so that we may evaluate the issue and take appropriate corrective action. Failure to report damages or discrepancies within a reasonable timeframe may affect eligibility for return or replacement.
2. Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items
Certain items are not eligible for return under any circumstances, including but not limited to:

Perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers, plants)

Custom or personalized products (e.g., special orders, custom sizes, engraved or modified items)

Personal care products (e.g., beauty or hygiene items)

Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
We do not accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

3. Exchanges
To obtain a replacement quickly, customers may return the original item (if eligible), and once the return is approved, place a separate order for the replacement item.
4. European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
For orders shipped into the European Union, customers have the right to cancel or return their order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification. Returned items must be unused, unworn, with tags attached, in original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.
5. Restocking Fee
A 10% restocking fee is applied to all approved returns that are not the result of a defect, damage, or an error by S&M Furniture, Inc.
The restocking fee is deducted from the total refund amount issued to the customer or the financing provider (if financed).
6. Refunds (General Purchases)
Once a returned item is received and inspected, S&M Furniture, Inc. will notify the customer of refund approval or denial.
Approved refunds will:

Be reduced by the 10% restocking fee, unless the return is due to damage, defect, or incorrect shipment caused by S&M Furniture, Inc.

Be refunded to the original payment method within 10 business days once processed.
Banks and credit card processors may require additional time to post the refund.

7. Financing Policies
This section details refund terms for in-house financing and third-party financing/refinance agreements.
7.1 In-House Financing (S&M Furniture, Inc.)
A. Down Payment Policy

A down payment is required to secure financing.

Down payments are non-refundable, except under the limited circumstances in Section 7.1(B).

The down payment is applied to the financed balance.
B. Refund Eligibility for In-House-Financed Purchases
Refunds may be issued only under the following conditions:

The product or service was not delivered per the financing agreement.

The financing agreement is canceled within the applicable 3-day cooling-off period (if permitted by state law).

A defective or incorrect product is delivered and no replacement is available.

A refund is requested before any services or products are rendered, subject to:

A 15% administrative cancellation fee, applied to the down payment.

A 10% restocking fee on any returned merchandise (if applicable).

7.2 Third-Party Financing & Refinance Agreements
A. Refund Processing

Refunds for third-party financed or refinanced purchases are issued directly to the financing provider.

The customer remains responsible for the loan agreement until the lender confirms cancellation or adjustment.
B. Eligibility for Refunds
Refund eligibility follows Sections 1–5 and must also comply with the financing provider’s policies.
Refunds may be issued when:

An order is canceled before delivery.

A defective or incorrect product is delivered and no replacement is available.

The financing provider authorizes cancellation or adjustment.
C. Fees Not Controlled by S&M Furniture, Inc.
Any fees imposed by lenders—application fees, interest charges, refinance fees, etc.—are non-refundable and outside the control of S&M Furniture, Inc.
D. Cancellation of Third-Party Financing
For canceled third-party financing agreements:

S&M Furniture, Inc. will issue any eligible refund to the lender.

Customers must coordinate directly with the lender regarding loan payoff and cancellation.
E. Restocking Fee for Third-Party Financed Returns
A 10% restocking fee applies to all eligible returns financed through a third-party lender unless the return is due to damage, defect, or incorrect delivery.
F. Timeline for Third-Party Refunds
Allow up to 30 business days for the lender to apply credit after S&M Furniture, Inc. completes refund processing.
