❤️ Thank You for Choosing S&M Furniture Inc

We appreciate every customer who shops with us—whether online at DecorationPath.com or in-store.
If you choose to use our in-house financing, we want everything to be easy to understand, transparent, and stress-free.

This page explains:

  • How our financing works

  • What we may report to credit bureaus

  • How you can dispute something if you think it’s wrong

  • How we protect your information

Our goal is to help you furnish your home comfortably and confidently.

🛋️ 1. About Our Financing Options

S&M Furniture Inc offers two types of financing:

⭐ In-House Financing (Offered Directly by Us)

  • Approvals are based on a combination of creditworthiness, employment stability, income, and our internal guidelines

  • A credit check may be used

  • You’ll receive a decision within 24 hours

  • Payments will be made directly to S&M Furniture Inc

  • Payments are handled through an invoice we send to your email

  • No “Pay in 4” options are available

This policy applies only to our in-house financing.

⭐ Third-Party Financing

Some customers choose third-party lenders available during online checkout.

  • These lenders process your financing separately

  • They handle your payments, reporting, and account servicing

  • S&M Furniture Inc does not report information for third-party financed orders

📝 2. Will My Payments Be Reported to Credit Bureaus?

For customers who use in-house financing, S&M Furniture Inc may report your account information to one or more credit bureaus.

If reporting is active, we may share:

  • When your account was opened

  • Your financed amount

  • Your payment history (on-time and late payments)

  • Your balance

  • Your account status (open, closed, paid off, etc.)

If your account will be reported, it will be clearly stated in your financing agreement.

🛡️ 3. The Information We Collect

To evaluate your application and, if applicable, report your account accurately, we may collect:

  • Your name

  • Address

  • Date of birth

  • Contact information

  • Employment and income information

  • Social Security Number (full or last 4 digits)

  • Your payment activity

This information helps us verify your identity, process your financing, and correctly match your account with credit bureaus.

✔️ 4. Our Commitment to Accurate Reporting

We take accuracy seriously.
If we report your information:

  • We work hard to ensure everything is correct

  • We update information promptly

  • We fix any errors quickly

  • We follow federal rules to keep your information accurate and secure

  • We retain records as required

If something ever looks wrong, we’re here to help you fix it.

📣 5. How to Dispute Something on Your Credit

If you believe information we reported is incorrect, you have the right to dispute it.
We’ll investigate every dispute fairly and promptly.

🔐 6. How We Protect Your Information

Your personal information is kept secure using:

  • Encrypted systems

  • Limited employee access

  • Secure storage and disposal methods

  • Ongoing data protection practices

We do not sell your personal credit information.
We only share it when required to service your account or comply with the law.

📁 7. How Long We Keep Your Records

We keep your account records for at least seven (7) years after your account is closed, as required by law.

💵 8. Understanding Late Payments

To help you stay on track:

  • A payment is considered late if it is not received by the due date on your invoice

  • A payment becomes “30 days late” only if it remains unpaid for 30 full days after the due date

  • Additional stages (60, 90, 120 days late) may follow

These timelines matter if your account is being reported to credit bureaus.

💳 9. Making Payments

⭐ In-House Financing Payments

You can pay your invoice:

  • Online (via the secure link we send)

  • In-store

  • By mail

If mailing payments, please allow extra time for postal delays.

⭐ Third-Party Financing

If you chose a third-party lender, all payments must be made through that lender.

📜 10. Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)

The FCRA gives you the right to:

  • Receive a copy of your credit report

  • Dispute information you believe is inaccurate

  • Receive results of a dispute

  • Have corrected information updated with the credit bureaus

  • Exercise your rights without retaliation

We fully support and respect these rights.

👥 11. Our Team & Training

Our staff members who handle financing and reporting receive regular training on:

  • Credit reporting rules

  • Accuracy standards

  • Your rights as a consumer

  • How to protect your information

This helps us serve you better and keep your information safe.

🔄 12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this page when needed to keep up with changing laws or business practices.
